The Things You Can Do to Make This Halloween a Little More Fun for the Teeth

Posted .

If you’re interested in helping your child have a more tooth-focused Halloween, then our dentist, Dr. Jay Stucky, is more than happy to help you! There are a couple things you can do to help your child’s smile have some fun this year. This is a great step toward many healthier Halloweens in the future. Dr. Jay Stucky encourages you to do the following:

-Encourage your child to carve their pumpkin like a tooth in a costume! They can carve a tooth dressed like Dracula, a tooth dressed like a Tooth Fairy, a tooth dressed like a pirate, a tooth dressed like a witch, or a tooth dressed as Frankenstein. You can find some fun pumpkin carving stencils on the American Dental Association’s website along with other fun Halloween activities.

-Encourage your child to select fewer tooth-harming treats when they visit each house on Halloween night. All they need to do is avoid extremely chewy, sticky, sugary, or acidic candies. Those treats include things like gummy bears, suckers, sour candies, Starbursts, and jawbreakers.
